Princess Swashbuckle

Princess Swashbuckle is a tale or two set on the high seas, all about a frog Princess who so, so, very, very much wanted a life on the ocean waves. But and there is always a but in all good stories about high seas and swashbucklers’ and the like, her Mum and Dad are not too happy about this.

They, of course want her to marry a frog prince and live happily ever after! But she had a real problem with this, as every frog she kisses never, ever turns into a Prince and all of them seemed to live in some very odd places, like bogs, swamps and logs, with one even being a TOAD!

So Princess Swashbuckle thought deeply about this, then decided she had to take a stand once and for all, so she packed up her things and set sail aboard a pirate ship called the Stinky Fish. And of course, that is when her adventures really began, as she and the sad and sorry crew set sail on the high seas, not to pillage and plunder, but to help and aid the many, many friends they make on their journey.

Now you will need to read the rest of the story for yourselves to find out what happens in the end, but as you read each page in the adventure, you must, at all times, have your very own adventures along the way.

This wonderfully light-hearted, rollicking good tale, is one that comes with a wonderful message to children that sometimes you have to do what you know is the right thing, but you should always remain as a kind and thoughtful a person as you can possibly become on your journey through life.

The story from Hollie Hughes is clever, fun and a most enjoyable read, with a hugely entertaining cast of characters created by Deborah Allwright, with her lavish and fun portraits of the motley pirate crew, a wonderful whale doubling as a speed boat and so many more fascinating people and things to discover on every page.

Princess Swashbuckle will become a very firm reading favourite for both children and their parents as they join the crew on the pirate ship Stinky Fish!
