The Multiplying Mysteries of Mount Ten

In this intriguing mystery there are several challenges set to be revealed or answered as you help try and unravel what is really going on at Mount Ten. Are you up for the challenge?

Esther can’t wait to get to summer camp at Camp Vermeer as she is a talented young painter and is looking forward very much, to taking part in the many activities and workshops to be held, as well as meeting new friends with a like interest, that of painting.

She and her step father Tony set out to drive to Camp Vermeer, but somehow managed to take the wrong turn. After a serious mishap, due to the torrential rain, they find themselves at Camp Archimedes, a math camp! And what a strange place it seems to be with a lot of very ‘nerdy’ kids already there, seeming to be familiar with the people and the place, as well as a lot of very strange tutors.

As you can imagine, Esther is not very happy, she wants to leave right now, but because the car is sitting next to a very large boulder and the rain is still falling, she is stuck, along with Tony is this rather weird situation.

She is shown a mathematical problem that needs to be solved and when she does it, in less than a day, things really start to get stranger than they were already. Cryptic clues start to be left where she can find them, but when it looks like one of the girls has gone missing realises it may be up to her and some of the others boys to try and find her.

Right at the very beginning of the book there is a very cleverly planted clue, which in the end holds the answer to what is really going on at Camp Archimedes. See if you can spot it?

Esther is a fresh new character in the young teen genre; feisty, brainy and curious, but also with a sense of the ridiculous, humour and courage; a heroine who will appeal to young readers.
