Dual Carriageway

This is a story of two men, twins to be exact and their journey through life: one being the blessed twin whose life always seems to turn out just right. The other, well his life is and has always been full of challenges. How can this be when after all they are twins? Was one born under a good sign and the other not, or is it simply life and life’s blessing?

Both brothers join the Police force with totally differing results. Whereas Barry always seems to get the cream of the positions, the woman of his choice and seems to be in the right place at the right time, Shane is always that one step behind. But is it always as it looks in what appears to be the charmed life of Barry?

As time goes on it becomes more apparent things do go wrong in Barry’s life as they also do in Shanes. But of course somehow, Barry manages to end up with the plum job, Shane being overlooked for the position of Sargent at a lovely rural posting, Barry winning the position, and somehow always managing to leave Shane with a mess on his hands to clean up; courtesy of his brother.

And so it goes.

Looking behind the banal, this is a story of pathways; looking at life differently and choosing which road to travel, as well as exploring the fundamental chemistry shared by twins. How much does self-determination play in your choice of direction and how much are you prepared to put up with in life?

Sharp and entertaining, although sometimes a torturous route to follow, this is a story of life; same story different directions, the tangled weave of love and loving the wrong person and how the fallout is handled, all-be-it  by twins in similar circumstances.
