Many identical twins are very close. However, there was no love lost between duplicitous, rich Leah and her twin Megan. Seeing a photo of her provocative sister in revealing underwear on her husband’s phone was the final straw for Megan. One bang on the head with an expensive wine bottle was all it took for furious Megan to accidently murder her scheming sister.

What to do with the body is resolved by stuffing Leah’s corpse in the freezer, but this is only part of the problem. In order to access Leah’s wealth and rid herself of her manipulative, abusive husband, Megan decides to disappear and assume her sister’s persona. Megan’s plans are complicated, not only by her scheming, coercive husband Chris, but also by the arrival of the Covid pandemic.

This novel with its constant twists, turns, and back stabbing is told in four parts; by the protagonist Megan, her conniving husband Chris, her devious sister Leah and Chris’s arrogant, clever lawyer. Chris, however has his own plans for Megan, as he knows more about the demise of Leah and he’ll use this knowledge to his advantage.

Although, some readers may find the initial chapters a little slow paced, it’s not far into the book that the double- crossing, deception, mind games and shocking lies grab their attention. This psychological thriller, in which each character manipulates the other, will evoke strong reactions and emotions. Many readers will hope that ‘Her perfect Twin’ is the first of many for the author Sarah Bonner.
