Take a group of friends out of their comfort zones, place them in Jamaica on an all expenses paid holiday staged for the express purpose of a surprise birthday party reunion, what could possibly go wrong.

The group of college friends are looking forward to a week of luxury diners on the beach under tropical skies,  idyllic days and romantic nights, all wanting to escape for little while from their everyday cares and responsibilities.

The husbands are not so sure but agree to go along anyway.

It is not long before the cracks in the various friendships and relationships start to appear and it becomes apparent that each of them is hiding something about their lives which is tearing them apart.

Tina is drowning under her mothering responsibilities, Allie has discovered a genetic illness in the family and Savannah’s husband is having an affair.

Pauline’s relatively new marriage is already starting to fall apart after a short time and this is her way to trying to mend the breach by holding a surprise birthday reunion for her husband.

As the days go by the friends begin to take stock of their lives and as the husbands begin to realise they had less in common with each other than they already knew, the tensions begin to build amongst the group.

When a powerful hurricane bears down on the community and they are left to sit it out it is time to really discover just what is that is really important their lives.

After spending four hours in close company until the storm rides itself out the friends are forced to face some real truths.

As with many things in life, it’s not until disaster almost strikes, with Allie going out into the storm before it was over and Ryan going to her rescue that the friends have to take a good look at what they really want in life and who they really are.
