The very last paragraph in this fascinating look into what goes on the in the human psyche perhaps tells it all. To me it is the most touching and heart searching of the many touching ,warm fussy bits in this book when Medina says “I said that parenting is all about developing the human brain, but my aim was inches to high. Parenting is all about developing human hearts”.

Very profound words to read in the final pages of a book which takes you into the dos and do nots of child rearing, while taking a no holds barred look at the modern and not so modern myths associated with bringing a child into today’s  world.

With so much emphasis placed on striving to achieve and having the most advanced child in the nursery, this very down to earth look at how a child’s brain develops with stimuli and how to go about the very real and responsible way of bring up your child in order for that child to make the most of life in modern society, makes fascinating reading.

Myths are exploded, realities put into perspective and good old fashioned common sense is combined in a very entertaining, factual and helpful look at bringing up baby.

One that will definitely become a parenting handbook.
