In this fast paced world the evening meal has to be simple and easy to prepare, filled with nourishment and be able to appeal to the entire family. A tall order you may well say, but all the recipes that have been selected to create this easy to use meal guide are based on a simple and sensible idea known as My Food Bag, created by Nadia Lim in pure self-defence.

As a young working Mum she faced these issues daily but could also see the need for other parents caught in the same dilemma, that of needing a quick, tasty meal solution on a nightly basis.

As a dietician she was very conscious of the need to be able to prepare good fresh food well and quickly and so My Food Bag was created to help working parents, or anyone, prepare a tasty, healthy meal without all the angst that can go with the evening and food.

The recipes have all been created for and have been rated by My Food Bag customers so every one of them has been tested and approved by the people best positioned to critic these dishes; the people like you and me who cook them.

Each of the recipes has a list of simple and easy to obtain ingredients, a step by step guide to the preparing and cooking and a great easy to understand guide at the bottom of each page giving the breakdown of energy, carbs, and so forth in each dish. The really helpful bit in the guide is the gluten/dairy guide as this gives an easy to spot guide to what is OK and what is not for those with food sensitivities.

The book is divided into seasonal sections focusing on foods that are in season, therefore should be fresh, readily available and cost effective.

The Essentials section at the end of the book lists all the bits and pieces that are able to be made and frozen or stored in the fridge or cupboard for later use.

Nothing is complicated even though the titles of some of the dishes do make you wonder at their difficulty levels. Once you get past that the array of tasty, mouth-watering, healthy dishes will have your family coming back for more every time.
