Once known as the World’s greatest cat burglar, Atticus Claw has changed his ways and become a member of the Cheddar family.  Mr Cheddar is the local Police Inspector, and Atticus now holds the title of the World’s best Police cat.  Although not the bravest of Police cats, he still knows many helpful tricks that will help to catch the baddies.

This story will have great appeal for older children, who will delight in the messy business of catching a crook who wants to pickle humans and other animals.  Ricardo Butteredsconi is that very evil man, who together with Pork, the pig, plans many wicked deeds, including art thefts.

Some of the concepts are a bit scary, but will delight those brave and hardy children untroubled by taxidermy.

The characters range from the solid Cheddar family, (including Atticus, whom they have adopted), to an array of animals.  These animals have been lured by Ricardo and Pork to a fort that the crooks call home.  There are three magpies, a green parrot, a ginger cat and an ex-KGB Russian criminal mistress of disguise.

The story is written with humour and flows in a manner to hold a young reader’s attention.
