Shelby was in a bad mood, which was quite serious as she was always sharp tongued, but this was worse, far worse. Watson really could not understand what was wrong. It turned out that she had been banned from candy by her parents, who had been around the neighbourhood and told everyone Shelby was not to eat sugar, which was bad enough, but also that there was a reporter from the local paper wanting to do an article about her and Watson and their last case!

Oh Boy, could things go from bad to worse than bad, and yes, they could and did, until a lady came looking for Shelby and Watson to help her discover who was threatening New York’s number one figure skating champion, the week before important sections.

Shelby could see this was her pathway to getting more candy and John could feel the excitement building at solving, or at least trying to solve, another puzzling case. The problem was they had to go undercover, become really good ice-skaters and solve the problem in a week!

But, can the dynamic team combine their skills and knowledge, along with Shelby’s sugar deprivation and Johns father being in town, getting up early and trying to skate like seasoned professionals to find the solution to the very tricky coded messages before someone gets hurt.

Join Shelby and John as they take up the challenge to crack the code in another amazing adventure created by Elizabeth Eulberg in The Great Shelby Holmes and the Coldest Case.

See if you can crack the code before they do. Matt Robinson has reproduced the code so you can have a fair go at working out the solution, along with his usual selection of fun caricatures of Shelby, John and the other intriguing cast of characters who all add to making a seriously good detective story.
