With Christmas fast approaching this is a fresh new take on the traditional story of three little pigs, except in this case there are five little pigs who are busy getting into the Christmas spirit, as they sing and dance their way towards Christmas, having fun buying their presents and generally enjoying themselves.

This is great story to share with your little ones as each listener can choose their favourite ‘little pig’ and follow them as they get ready for the best event of the year, Christmas. There is also a good selection of new words and creative sound effects to be taught as you read through the pages, which will add that something extra to the sharing of the tale. How creative can your children be  with clickity-clack, plink, plonk, plunk and lots more fun sounds!

The traditional rhyme runs throughout the book with some very clever additions like the little piggy who had noodles, and perhaps he just might be the little piggy who went ‘vroom, vroom, vroom’ , all the way home.

Which little piggy stays home and which one loves to eat candy makes a great talking point as the piggy’s romp through the pages.  Which little piggy loves plum pudding and which one loves to play a tune are there for you to discover.

Deborah Nilands illustrations are clean, bold, enjoyable and completely  enhance this simple little tale which will delight young and old as we do, ever so slowly, approach the festive season once again.
