Secrets, lies, first love and tragedy all come together in this wonderful portrayal of a family in crisis; a family with more than one problem that seems to be driving them apart, until Georgia’s cousin Sophia, is hit by a hit and run driver on their way home from a night out and everyone is forced to take stock of what is happening in their lives.

Sophia suffers leg and head injuries which place her in a coma fighting for her life. Georgia and friend Troy come away with little more than a few scrapes and bruises in the incident. But why they were the target of a hit and run and who is the person driving the car that bears such malicious intent, is something that no one can explain.

Georgia’s mother Anya is struggling to know the best way to deal with her daughter as she slowly closes herself of from the family. It is obvious that something is not right in her world but as she will not open up, Anya becomes steadily more and more anxious about her daughter.

Georgia’s father is never home anymore preferring the company of the other members of the Hills Rescue Team; on the night of the accident he is unable to be contacted. He is carrying a guilty secret which he finds he must deal with and accepts that his distancing himself from his family has become the accepted, if not liked, norm.

Zac, Georgia’s brother is facing his own issues in regard to his growing infatuation for his step-cousin when he stumbles across the reason for Georgia’s withdrawal and secrecy, a reason that if discovered will tear the family apart.

Zac unfortunately shares this secret with his cousin, which then become viral and in doing so sets in motion another train of events that will almost end in tragedy once again. Faced with the reality of what happens when the secrets you hold put lives at risk, the family realise that to survive they must once again become a family.

Set in the rugged and treacherous beauty of England’s Lakes District this is a thriller that highlights what happens when a family begins to drift apart, when secrets are kept and the harsh reality of betrayal which tests the very fabric of their existence.
