A biblical plague, a lost book of the Bible and a billionaire who has a new vision for the world order sets the scene for the latest HARPA adventure from Rob Jones, The Exodus Key, a title which relates to both the book of Exodus and the philosophy behind Ulrich Faust’s plans to rid the world of everyone other than the rich.

Faust has been on the trail of the eleventh plague of biblical repute for many years. He feels he is almost there, but it is not until HARPA is called in to retrieve the missing chapter of Exodus, which apparently contains the elements of a devastating plague, he gets his wish.

Lead by Max Hunter, Agent Amy Fox and the team head into a mission they are none too sure about, but first they need to get the parchment, the Dead Sea Scroll, from Seville, where it has been hidden in the archives of the Catholic Church presided over by the Archbishop of Seville.

This first step appears to go smoothly until it does not and that is when HARPA realise that Faust is not all that far behind them and they will need the very luck of the Devil to get to the final chapter of Exodus before Faust.

Even though this series is a little formulaic, the saving grace is the Archaeological information and detail that moves the plot line along at a cracking pace. Seville, Morocco, Egypt, Vienna and a race against time all come together in a dare devil flight in a 1930 Nazi Transport plane, ending in Vienna, where Faust believes the final Exodus needs to begin.

A madcap dash against the set against Biblical odds makes a very enjoyable and readable storyline as once again, right finally wins over might, HARPA style.
