The Logos Prophecy; The Fall of the Ancients is the beginning of what is to be the Fall of the Ancients series and as such Martin Treanor has spent considerable time establishing the characters, their roles, past history and naturally the plot lines.

Central protagonists Ary Long, who is right into conspiracy theories and Jordan Burke a science nerd, or guru, depending on your point of view, become the instruments to be used to correct the very serious situation the world has finally entered, a world where the people are controlled by politics, greed and avaricious desires.

Through The Logos Prophecy; The Fall of the Ancients, Treanor takes a very cynical look at the world today and possess the question as to why we are so obsessed with things, bling and so much more modern civilization clutter. You could add to that destruction as well.

Ary Long and Jordan Burke, both living in vastly different worlds, are drawn together via a strange symbol that has appeared to them, courtesy of their computer screens. The symbol has links to Ary’s mother’s past in Cambodia.

They place themselves in terrible danger as they, with the help friends, and eventually enemies, work out or try to work out what this symbol means. They discover that they have been chosen to right a terrible wrong; a wrong so well entrenched over thousands of years to keep the ‘plebians’ under control, that could or almost certainly would, see the end of civilization as we know it!

Apparently it is all tied within the LOGOS Prophecy which is controlled by the Caucus, who are in a state of chaos, as their so carefully laid plans are coming unstuck, which makes them very dangerous people to mess with.

Entertaining, and suitable for a YA audience who enjoy sci-fi, the reasonably fast pace of the story helps carry the somewhat verbose dialog. As it is Book One in a series, it will be very interesting to see where Book Two takes Ary Long and Jordan Burke, in their hunt to uncover what is really going on! Anarchy or something else!
