Winter Nights at the Bay Bookshop is the perfect book to curl up with and spend a little time in another place, beloved of all book lovers as Lily and Lars find their way to true love, thanks to books, more books and a mysterious Book Elf.

Lily Appleton loves books, Lars Jóhannsson is looking for a new direction in his life. They once knew each other in their high school days, both lost, both searching for friendship and understanding, both going their own way, not thinking much of each other but always wondering what if.

What if comes about when Lily needs an extra staff member in her families beloved Bookshop, Bay Books, due to her father’s fast approaching double knee replacement surgery and Christmas fast approaching. Lars has sold his business; one he began at the age of seventeen and has focused on exclusively for many years and is lost.

His Grandmother has decided to sell the family home and downsize; he is forced to buy his own place and is slowly discovering that there needs to be more to his life than refurbishing a lovely old home on the edge of the lake.

He applies for the part time position at the Bookstore and after a serious struggle with her emotions Lily gives him the job which as the days slowly move towards Christmas, she realises was a very good decision, on more than one level.

Slowly the two find they have a great deal in common and as they get to know each other as adults they realise that mysteriously, so many old wounds are beginning to heal, the past is slowly left behind with a bright and happy future gently developing.
