Get settled in for a real treat with this creative and very enjoyable album from Christopher Boscole, Dawn of Love, designed to be presented as your very own, personal concert, played just for you, with the lovely choice of music selected from a wide range of genres, which creates a luscious, warm feeling of familiarity throughout the album.
There are two original tracks on the album, the introductory piece and title of the album Dawn of Love and Simply You with the balance selected from traditional favourites such as Ode to Joy, followed by the beautiful Jesu Joy of Mans Desiring.
Snyder, Kusak and Rotas A Time For Us from Romeo and Juliet, is perfectly presented and when followed by his piece Simply You, a delicate and wonderful song, the feeling of love is certainly present as each piece segues effortlessly into the next.
A rather funky little piece is the mash-up of the hymn Amazing (Grace) Daisy (Daisy) and Bicycle Built for Two creating a rather fascinating combination of elements, which catches you somewhat off guard after the more conventional pieces.
Then, the absolutely stunning Consolation No 3 in D-flat major from Franz Liszt simply astounds with its beauty. Absolutely sublime perfection. Simply absorb this piece into your very being. Saint-Saens is there with his glorious, emotive piece The Swan from Carnival of the Animals: XIII as always, enchanting with its simple beauty.
Two gorgeous renditions of Ave Maria (JS Bach and Charles Gounod) and ( Franz Schubert) divided by the heavenly little piece Angles We Have heard on High often played at Christmas time, leads in to the finale, with Sartori and Quarantotto’s heartbreakingly beautiful Time To say Goodbye (Con te Parino), which brings immediately to mind the beautiful duet sung by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli, making this a gloriously sumptuous end, to a perfect evening in with Christopher Boscole and his piano.
Each of the pieces in this amazingly uplifting and enchanting work are perfection in themselves. How many ways can you describe a wonderful, eclectic and all-time favourite selection of some of the worlds most beloved classical and traditional pieces, combined into one perfect listening journey.
Absolute perfection for one splendid hour in time.
