As diverse and complex as the man himself First Melancholy, Then the Night Stretch is deep, brooding and introspective, displaying  a wide range of jazz improvisation styling within the challenging music.

This album composed in metre which moves across many themes, incorporates his very diverse musical and personal backgrounds within each piece, or if you like, segment.

When listening to this album close your eyes and be led into the man, the music and the feeling. You can see him brooding over the piano allowing the time, the place, the sound, the mood, the space, take him, and by extension you, where it will.
