Linage released in October 2024 from Michelle Qureshi showcases her wide ranging talent on solo guitar, as she focuses on her reflections of life; the good, bad, joyous and terrible times, that are overcome to make up the fabric of everyday life.
Encapsulated into the most delicate and beautiful music, her emotions from the birth of a child, their growing into a young adult, the joy and pain of them moving away to begin to form their own independence are perfectly woven into songs that resonate.
The titles to the songs tell their own story; Days So Long capturing the eternal timelessness of youth, Love What You Have reminding all to be thankful for the blessings in our lives. This Shade Of Love is a slow, dainty song full of unconditional love, that moves gently on to Unbroken Love as the loved one sets out on their life journey.
Change comes to all with the passing of a loved one, which is reflected in the final four tracks. The somber, yet charming So We Walked marking the beginning of the final farewell.
Time To Let Go is the longest song which portrays that time in between, that twilight of acceptance before the Night Arrives, an upbeat song with a delicate and immensely peaceful ambience.
Time to Rest is the final song in this immensely touching work from Michelle Qureshi, which once again showcases her wide and skillful talent on guitar.
Her work defies genres and although she sits somewhere in the broad range of New Age, her music is always coloured by pure emotion, love and understanding of life’s many quirks.
Linage is a work of pure love, singular but sharing deep and rich emotion.
