Interesting, is perhaps not quite the way to describe this album from Matt Millecchia in this his first formal album, which has been produced by renowned guitarist and producer William Ackerman.

The pieces range from the introspective in “Inspires”, in which Millecchia is joined by Ackerman to isolationist in “Moonset”.

The feeling of the music is one of insular splendour, pure and idealistic, with each piece being carefully constructed and played. Perfectionism comes through and from a musical perspective is almost too clinical.

Unfortunately the slide of fingers on strings, which is evident on several of the tracks, mars, at least to me, the final piece “Moonset” and takes the listeners attention from the music.

Overall, not a bad album if you like the clear crisp sound of acoustic guitar and surprisingly, makes easy listening.
