Stronger is without a doubt the best album I have listened to from multi awarded winning musician Doug Hammer as he faces life challenges, converting them into a work that is simply outstanding.
Known for his definitive, powerful playing this album encompasses so many aspects of grief, pain, acceptance, courage and love each one encapsulated within a gentle series of melodies that reach out and touch the soul.
Broken is gentle, hesitant and reflective. The die was cast, the moment of truth delivered which softly segues into Uncertain a thoughtful, careful, hesitant and very profound piece.
Calmness descends on turbulent thoughts with the beautiful song Losing, an emotion everyone must accept at some time in their lives; this delicate piece captures perfectly that resigned moment familiar to us all.
Acceptance ushers in a stronger, more robust feeling which happens before change can begin to occur. The melancholy begins to lift, the healing commences. The process of healing has been captured eloquently in Healing a lovely up-tempo tribute to the human spirit.
Looking forward, looking back in contemplation has been captured with delicate and emotional strokes of the keys in Perspective before moving into the final song Stronger, a short but powerful song rich with gentle emotion.
Released as an album in March the tracks come with a stark black and white square, each one different, each one offering an interpretation only you can offer.
Stronger is powerful in its gentleness, deep in its contemplation and perfect in every note. Each track on the album is being released with a small video over seven months, each song inviting contemplation and healing.
