Gentle dromes and soft washes of sound gently welcomes the listener into a world of peace and quietude in Michelle Qureshi’s latest work Zindagi. Elegant notes of the guitar add a depth of tone and style to Being Seen, a captivating song of many layers with which to begin this latest and immensely enjoyable celebration of life.

Michelle Qureshi never ceases to delight with her delicate and carefully constructed songs chosen not only to entertain, but to delight the very soul of the listener with grace and charm. Gentle, tantalising shades of percussion commence the beautiful Eternal Loveliness, an uplifting very genteel moment in time, before ending with a quirky flourish

Ley Lines is a favourite that encourages drifting into an alternate space with the intent to do as little as possible other than relax and float away from life’s many challenges for a mere moment in time.

Moving further into the sound journey Tin Shadows, a darker song has a faster tempo moves with an intricate combination of synth and acoustic guitar which changes the vibration considerably from to the previous gentle songs.

Etheric and yet earthy at the same time Like a Dream features a lovely synergy of guitar and ambient sounds before moving onto Faith, a slightly deeper, almost eerie song reminiscence of ancient cloisters, the walls steeped in history; deep, tranquil and far beyond the idiosyncrasies of the modern world.

We Walked Until Dark brings a most intriguing and enjoyable 42 minutes spent in the company of Michelle Qureshi to a delightful close, as she sets about having a whole lot of fun with harmonica, synth, singing bowls and guitar, as well as adding a little bit of this and that!

‘Zindagi’ from Persian translates to Life and in this colourful, intriguing collection of tracks, life is celebrated in entirety from the deeper introspective, darker times to the lighter, happier days of the journey we all travel.
