It is almost an insult to call such a delightfully presented, well thought out and detailed book a cookbook but this is what it is, from beginning to end.

Commencing with a potted history of the Spirit House Restaurant, moving on to a tempting array of ingredients used in Thai cooking, followed by a section on growing your own essentials, if you really want the real thing in your cooking, you find yourself set up for the main course, which is presented with the flair and panache that only Spirit House can offer.

Each recipe commences with a little note from the chef encouraging you to try and taste. Ingredients are generally such that you would have in the home or can be easily obtained. Each recipe is clearly presented, accompanied with by a beautiful illustration of the finished dish, which makes the mouth water.

Whether you are an experienced cook or a novice, there is something for everyone with many delightfully exotic dishes hidden among the pages.
