In a reflection  of times gone by, when you came home from school  and Mum  had just finished the baking so you could tuck in to fresh bikkies, yummy cakes and heaps of feel good home cooking,  this compilation of tried and true recipes truly does warm the heart and tantalise the taste buds.

None of the recipes are all that fancy, but are based on straight forward kid food, or should I say healthy kid food, which is important in a day and age where food has often become more of a decoration that a feel good factor.  After all, feeling good is mostly what food is all about: feeling good, sharing the experience and the enjoyment of the eating.

Tied together with snippets of folk lore, helpful hints, fabulous pictures, not only of the food but the kids the recipes are used to feed, this is one feel-good warm fussy “cook” book that is a true delight to work through, in every sense of the word.

Put together in such a way that you feel part of the families involved, this is one book everyone with families, young, old or whatever, should have in the kitchen.

Definitely one for the kitchen shelf!
