As rich and warm and the woman herself, Legs 11, gives an insight into the life of perhaps one of Australia most loved actresses of stage and screen, Rhonda Burchmore.   Commencing with her love of performing as a young child and taking us step by step through a performer’s life, she entertains on every page.

This no holds barred biography is well written and totally enjoyable, so much so you feel as if you are there with Burchmore as she grieves for the child lost, her agony as to whether she should marry her beloved Nik, her terror when she had to understudy for the famous Anne Millar, and celebrate with her when she gets the roles for which she worked, sweated and despaired.

Underlying all this there is a very true sense of just what it takes to become a “Star” and the enormous effort and drive required to maintain a very public presence over many years.

As she says, she has been richly blessed with the help and support of so many people internationally and nationally, but woven among the pages you sense the true, warm and loving essence of one of Australia’s icons who, in spite of many setbacks, truly believes that if you want it and work hard enough for it, eventually you get where you desire to be – a star on the stage of life.
