The really great thing is most of the dishes are speedy to prepare and cook, making it considerably easier to sit down to a delicious, taste sensation for your evening meals or lunch instead of bangers and mash because it’s easier. Enjoy your culinary journey.Bon Appetite!

When you are bought up with mouth-watering dishes which have spices as a standard component to the dish you simply don’t “get it” when Westerners try to emulate the same foods but just don’t quite manage to return the same flavours.

From Morocco to the streets Vietnam and Turkey to Korea and beyond, Gregory-Smith has set about collecting, eating and then delivering the goods (foods that is) in a form that we can all easily understand and create in our own kitchens.

The book commences with a great introduction as to why he is making this culinary journey, other than the sheer love of being able to do so, which adds insight into the collection of recipes that follow.  Essentials comes next as it is definitely essential to understand a little about what you need to have in your store cupboard and fridge in order to be able to deliver theses mouth watering dishes.

Once through these very necessary chapters the fun begins with something for every occasion divided up into sections such as Mighty Bites or simply fast foods for that occasion when the mates are around or you don’t want a full meal.

Midweek Lifesavers fit the bill for a quick meal after work. Something Spectacular is the chapter when you feel confident enough to impress the friends with your new creative way of cooking. For my money you really can’t get much better than Sticky Malaysian Lamb with Penang Garden Rice.

For the sweet tooth amongst us there is of course a chapter devoted to some of the tastiest treats to finish off that special meal. Names such as Goan Explosive Truffles tempt you to make them so you can simply taste them and Vanilla Ice-cream with Salted Caramel Chocolate Sauce!  Well really!

Not to be left out there is a couple of pages at the back which really need to be discovered after the mandatory reading as that is where the  alcoholic delights are hiding. Take a taste of the Hot and Spicy Bourbon, quick, simple and definitely easy to make or if your tipple is tequila try Burnet Lemon and Vanilla Tequila Shots!

Well what can one say other than, Bon Appetite!
