Jackie Sobon is back with another series of delicious vegan based meals in her Yak Attack series, Vegan Yak Attacks Plant Based Meal Prep specifically designed for the beginner, or the experienced cook, looking for a simple, healthy way forward with which to simplify their vegan lifestyle.

Specifically aimed at the beginner vegan who is feeling overwhelmed by what seem to be a complex system of preparing foods based on only plants, especially if you are a person who is always busy with little time to spend on food preparation and healthy eating, this book makes life so much less complicated, at least as far as food is concerned.

Sobon advocates pre-planning your weekly meal schedule from breakfast to the evening meal, presenting options that are able to be prepared and stored for the week but will remain crisp, tasty and enjoyable. Pre-planning is also a great way to budget while eating healthy, regardless of whether you are feeding one or several people on a daily basis.

Perfect for the beginner vegan cook, or anyone beginning to learn to cook, Part 1 sets out everything you will need to acquire, beginning with storage containers and ending with a series of labels Sobon has placed on each recipe to let you know more about it immediately.

Following this is a section on Meal Prep for One which sets out the menu for the week, the shopping list and guidelines to be used. Then the real creation begins with the recipes that follow. Mix and Match for all levels contains some seriously delicious choices, with a very enticing menu for the week, as do the following chapters. Helpful tips have been included on all recipes which, even for the experienced cook, can be very helpful.

No recipe book would be complete without a section on desserts and sweets which all come under the heading Basics and Bonuses, which even if you are not into vegan food, are super delicious and easy to make.

Fantastic photographs certainly introduce the world of vegan cooking in a very colourful and delicious style, which offers encouragement to the beginner cook, beginner vegan or anyone who simply enjoys a great range of different foods, anywhere, any time.
