Joey is a rather nice little Kangaroo with a very small, or not so small, problem. Joey has bad dreams. These dreams are so bad that he is too scared to go back to his own bed and go to sleep.

His Mum and Dad have decided to ask Joey if anything upset him before he went to sleep that night. Joey thinks and thinks and finally decides that he was upset at not being allowed to go to his friend Kenny Koala’s party that day as he had a bad cold.

His parent’s talk him through why he could not go and make him understand that dreams are often all about sorting out problems: That even though they could not make his cold go away they still loved him. Once this was explained, with cuddles given, Joey hopped back into his own bed falling safely off to sleep.

Joey also comes with a fantastic group of mates from the Australian bush, such as Kenny Koala, Sammy the fuzzy green wombat, Clarissa the cuscus and little sister Jilly, all there to help children learn about dreams and how to understand what and why they are dreaming.

Each of the four dreams illustrated in the book are well detailed, making this a great resource for parents with children having problems with dreaming.

Beautifully illustrated, the book comes with its own bookmark which can be at bedtime reading as an assurance that dreams are just that, dreams and once you understand them you can go off to sleep again by yourself.
