Penguin had had enough. He was bored with the snow, he was bored with skiing he was just plain bored. He decided he needed to go on holiday. So he set off to go to the beach. He swam and he surfed and he built sandcastles. He discovered things he did not know; like you can’t ski on the sand. He also got lonely.

And so the story unfolds about the simple pleasures that can be found when you go on holidays somewhere unexpected and share that joy with a friend.

This is a lovely, brightly illustrated story suitable for the 2-5 years age range just, of course, before you set out on holidays. The text is simple and clear making it great for the beginner reader.

It’s all about setting out, enjoying the experience. Finding a good friend just makes everything that little bit special.  It’s all about not where you are but what and who you are enjoying the experience with, which is a great little reminder to children and adults as well,  because after all that’s what holidays are all about.
