Zombelina is extremely cute for a zombie! Molly Idle’s charming and humorous illustrations will make readers wish their family was just a cool whilst Kristyn Crow’s pitch-perfect rhyme make reading aloud a real treat.

What makes this book very endearing is the underlying theme of the importance of family and supporting one another no matter what; and your uniqueness is something of which to be proud.

“ Can you sway and sashay in a cool zombie trance? Zombelina loves to dance. She moonwalks with mummies and boogies with bats. She spins like a specter and glides like a ghost and loves to dance for her family the most. When Zombelina enrolls in a ballet class for real girls, her dancing is so good it’s scary!” But when Zombelina gets a case of stage fright what is she to do? Only her devoted family’s cheers, in their own special way, help Zombelina dance the ballet of her dreams.

The only challenge is my 4 and a bit year old is just a tad too young to “get” this story. By that I mean she is very literal; Why are they on a broom? How come they don’t drive a car? Why has their house got cobwebs? So the whimsical nature of the story is slightly destroyed when you have to unpack these and other important 4 year old questions!
