This is a delightfully gentle story about life, love and losing someone very special. From a tiny great white shark pup Gilbert has had a true friend in Raymond the Remora. They played together and were, as in the way of things under the sea, inseparable.

One day Raymond was there no longer. Gilbert was inconsolable. His friends could not cheer him up. He sat in the seaweed and sulked. Gilberts Mum explains to him that remoras do not stay about for ever and that it is OK to be sad and cry. Gilbert cries and cries but finally manages to make a watery, wobbly, sad little smile.

A chance meeting at the shipwreck brings back the smile to Gilbert’s face and helps him find a new friend and happiness once again.

Another lovely gentle read from Gilbert once again.
