Nearly every dinosaur we know is listed in this colourful book. Rumble, Rumble Dinosaur can be sung to the tune of Twinkle Twinkle little star and is written in verse. The large print and simple, colourful illustrations make this ideal for reading to the youngest child.

The double page spread ensures that the simple illustrations and story complement each other. “Rumble, rumble, dinosaur, wake up dino’s near and far.” The story follows the day of dinosaurs, from waking first thing in the morning to sleeping at night. The language is active and sibilant in some cases, inviting children to become involved in the telling. “Clomp and Crash! We hear the dinosaurs make a track.

Each dinosaur is named. More importantly each dinosaur is shown with a smile to minimise any alarm a child may have. The language, the colour and the rhyme ensure that this will be a much repeated story.
