Rummikub is well packaged in a sturdy attractive box. It has won Best Selling Game, and Game of the Year, five times and is suitable for 2-4 players aged 7 to adult.

The setting up is simple. The box contains 4 racks, 106 tiles (8 sets of tiles 1-13 in four colours) and two jokers. Each player takes a rack, and the tiles are placed face down on the table. The players then take 14 tiles each and place them on the rack. The youngest player chooses a tile followed by all other players. The person with the lowest number on the tile begins the game.

The object of the game is to be the first player to play all the tiles from your rack, by forming them into Groups or Runs. A Run is a set of three or more consecutive numbers all in the same colour, with the number 1 always being the lowest number. A Group is a set of either three or four tiles of the same number in different colours. There is also a joker in the play.

At first it is a bit strange to be playing with numbers instead of letters, but once the game begins in earnest, the fun starts. A player may choose not to play and pick up a tile, or, add to a set or run already on the table.

This is a great game for number recognition and number sequencing. It is also just a lot of fun as the variations one can make are endless. The scoring at the end of the game is on face value of the tiles amassed. A great game for older children and young adults.
