Once again the fantastic combination of Margaret Wild and illustrator Deborah Niland have created a modern take on the traditional ‘This LIttle Piggy’ nursery rhyme loved by many generations which is guaranteed to appeal to another generation of very young and beginner readers, along with their parents.

These little piggies get up to so much more than their predecessors turning the traditional into a very easy modern read coupled with gorgeous illustrations. I found both my four year old and almost two year old entertained for a short period of time although I can see this one getting a thorough workout with my two year old.

My four year Miss was happy with one read through and hasn’t requested it since. She is very literal so was constantly asking why all the pigs were doing the different activities!… so the suggestion is to read it on those days you have the patience to answer the many and varied questions. Oh to be a pig in this wonderful world of fun and mayhem as they eventually go wee,wee,wee all the way home!
