In this second thriller by Crawford we again meet Ethan Warner and new partner Nicola Lopez as they set off on a clandestine operation to find missing coroner Lillian Cruz, who extract s a cannonball, manufactured 200 years earlier from a dead man’s thigh bone.

Twisting and turning as only Crawford’s plots do we time shift into the days of the American civil war, discovering a group of soldiers who have somehow, mysteriously managed to live on 200 years into the future. Not only that but they have a picture of the group. But how did one of them end up dead in the modern world?

Meanwhile in the world of pharmaceuticals the search is on for the elixir of life. Once the word is out there is evidence of human survival from 200 years the race is on to find out why and how these people have survived and to recreate the drug to bring longevity.

 Ruthlessness, coupled with deadly intent to cull world population to ensue only the select survive and have eternal life all driven by mogul Oppenheimer, using his daughter as his agent in terrorism, adds a further layer to the already complex case.

Who lives, who dies and will right eventually be achieved, makes for a fast paced, intriguing read into the age of modern day terrorism.
