Seldom does a true farce come along disguised as a novel but in Skios there is a true meeting of farce and fantasy.
Set on the isle of Skios the prestigious Fred Toppler Foundation is gearing up for their annual lecture. Enter Nikki, the organiser for the foundation. She is waiting for this year’s guest lecturer to arrive on the Island and impress the best of the best with his knowledge.

Firmly convinced he will be as dry and dusty as the last few, Nikki is surprised when a young charming, good looking guy turns up calling himself Dr Norman Wilfred.

It soon becomes a case of will the real Dr Norman Wilfred please stand up as things at the Toppler Foundation go from sublime to ridiculous with the charming stand in wooing the guests along with the ever so efficient Nikki.

Meanwhile Georgie has managed to get over the shock of the Bald Old Guy in her bed: She and the real Dr Norman Wilfred set out to try and sort out the mess but end up in a situation far worse, with both Georgie and Norman Wilfred learning a great deal about themselves and life in general.

As with all make believes the end must eventually come, for the very unreal Dr Wilfred, and come it does, in the most unexpected of ways and in the most totally unbelievable enjoyable manner, befitting of a true farce.
