If you like an enviro-action thriller, with a little fantasy thrown in then you will enjoy this book. Jack and his human and animal companions pit their considerable skills against an illegal animal trafficking ring. Jack’s gift is he can communicate with animals, which in itself is a blessing and a curse. Corruption comes in many guises from government agencies to cults. Who can they trust? Will they survive long enough to uncover the truth and set innocent animals free; while those that are involved are brought to justice.

This book moves along at a cracking pace and yet takes the time to educate the reader on the various capabilities and gifts the various animals characters have, everything from jaw strength and wing swan to eyesight. So it is encouraging a love of all fauna, educating readers as they go about various facts including animal trafficking statistics. Whilst the book is a fun read you do begin to wonder if its all just a little too perfect with all characters coming through practically unscathed after numerous encounters with the “baddies” who are trained military, security men with muscle training and guns etc.

 

The opening is very emotive and works extremely well to draw the reader in, and sets the scene for a serious adventure. Who will make it through the shadowy and dangerous world of animal trafficking; Follow Jack and his friends and find out for yourself.
