Taking the traditional and ancient form of healing and wrapping a murder mystery around it, coupled with a search for the box that contains the remaining Reiki symbols, which are known about but guarded carefully by monks until people are ready to have that knowledge, forms the basis for a gripping journey that keeps you turning the pages long after you should be asleep.

The story is one you will either like or not, as you chose, but for me it was enthralling, knowledgeable and a great combination of fact, fiction, good and bad totalling up to an enthralling read.

It involves ancients wisdoms and powers, deadly assassins who will stop at nothing to achieve their goal, that of obtaining the box, supernatural powers and downright good luck.

James has plotted the characters and the scenes carefully which has made the entire story very easy to relate to and as a Reiki Master his knowledge of the ancient art ads an authentic touch to the storyline.

The plot is one that is familiar to most readers who love a good murder but the skill with which James has tied all the various differing elements together makes for a fascinating, unforgettable read.  There are more plots and sub plots, twists and turns and sections that deal with the beliefs behind many of the ancient arts than you would have believed could possibly have survived in today’s world.
