A city destroyed, a culture vanished in what seems to be a storm beyond belief, predicted by the Gods, a myth left behind of a vanished civilization somewhere out in the Arabian Desert sets the scene for the latest adventure from Lex Faulkner, The Sands of Atlantis.

The Arabian Dessert is not about to give up its secrets easily as archaeologist Dr Tariq  Faizan well knew, having been on many a dig site in the UNESCO World Heritage areas of the desert.

The myth known as Ubar, a place spoken of with a certain amount to fear and superstition by Bedouins and other desert travellers had once again attracted his attention, along with the story of a relic that held power over life and death.

A request from Dr Fazian, sees the crew of the Artifact Recovery Corp (ARC) headed by Ethan Frost returning to a place that will see ex FBI Analyst and hacker Scarlet Fox return to a place she left in disgrace, facing the end of her career with the FBI; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Sands of Atlantis is another fast-paced tale of obsession from Lex Faulkner, set across the wide-open spaces of the Arabian Desert as men of immense power are also on the track of the relic, men who will stop at nothing to achieve their ends.

Once again there is a definite cliff-hanger attitude to the storyline, which this time is Scarlett’s story, as certain elements within the government are out to use her past to silence her and destroy ARC.

The historic and archaeological details, along with the technical aspect of hacking and modern warfare, detailed throughout the book are fascinating but sadly the storyline is becoming very rote, or formulaic, which takes away from the intent of the storyline. So, saying, readers who enjoy a fast-paced storyline, with an assured plot line will enjoy The Sands of Atlantis.
