The Protein Myth is a powerful book, scathing in its criticism of why people keep on eating foods which are dangerous to their health. Which in turn then makes you, or rather forces you, to take a very good look at just what is behind the food we eat and the effect the entire food chain is now having on our society.

Irving has spent many years researching and investigating the effects, both short and long term, of the food we eat and the correlation to many of the diseases and medical conditions suffered by modern society.

He begins his work with a chapter on Killer Disease and is there a cure? Surprise, surprise, there is, but not in the way you may think. More so by taking back control over the way foods are produced, the political drive behind the Medical “cures” and the motivation. And this is just the beginning as once into the flow he addresses Government research, Drug Companies, animal research and nutritional deficit in children just to name a few subject areas.

Irving encourages us to be aware of very specific global and corporate motivation in the so called health industries, stating over and over again that you can make a very significant difference to the way the world produces.

He says that because of apathy to a degree and brainwashing by “Corporates”, people are suffering needlessly while there is a cure and it all comes down to what we eat.

It’s just that simple. While medial science is still trying to “prove” certain facts in relation to foods and disease the facts are already proven and are there for the everyday person who is truly interested in good health and the cure or prevention of disease to be able to access.

Is this the work of a sensationalist or the very true, very real facts that are behind many of society’s ills that we are all slowly being forced into accepting? If you enjoy eating and if you wish to enjoy a healthy life, this is a must to read.
