Koliptus is a delightful story about the life of a koala family during trying times in the Australian bush. Our hero Koliptus grows up into an independent koala and has to find his way into adulthood all the while becoming more and more aware of the perils of his environment.

He meets his mate Midgie and makes a host of great and true friends as he sets up his home in the bush, having to overcome disease, fires, floods and the loss of their first baby koala.

The hardy pair with their friends, fight for survival and with the help of Pete the policeman, who comes to their rescue on a number of occasions, as do the animals on several occasions for him, recuing him from an armed man, and helping him to arrest a group of men for koala-napping, Koliptus, Midge and baby Bindy all have a better chance of survival.

Aimed at the younger adult market it contains a great story of the fight for survival not only of the koala but of all native species in this hysteria of habitat destruction so prevalent in the modern world.

A little teary in places it certainly hits home with all the issues so many species have to face to survive.

Join Koliptus and his friends as they take you into a world little known to many while they help teach you what native environment survival is all about and how you can be more aware of their needs and habitat.
